If you click and drag the area of a rectangular room, the length will reflect the base quantity. </p>

<p>Here in the UK we have housing developers building large schemes &#8211; 100 to 1,000 or more homes on a scheme.  20 years ago, each developer would have a set of standard housetypes (less than 10 I would say) with maybe the odd change&hellip;</p>

<p>Try to do only unit types, but more and more projects are having so many unit types (almost no repeats per floor).</p>
<p>I have gone through doorways, but didn&#8217;t find much time savings.   I am pretty fast at doing the takeoffs, but as my role expands at my current company, I am trying&hellip;</p>

<p>Two things I HATE doing. Window Sills and Baseboard. Both very time consuming. Might be something to try when the AI gets better. </p>
<p>When I do these on large scale projects I tend to only do one of each unit type. <br />Then with two custom columns, Floor Multiplier and Quantity, that will get me close enough for all that I need to take off.&hellip;</p>

Is there any way you can measure through each doorway and use that as waste rather than getting into all the fine details of small bumpouts? Just thinking, some of those very small pieces can be very time-consuming to trace over. Others in the group might also have ideas.</p>

I use feet and inches when I look at the actual size of the room, the door sizes, etc. but when it comes to measuring things like skirting boards (base boards?), architraves, etc. then I do that in metres.<br />I guess that&#8217;s what comes from doing a Carpentry &amp;&hellip;</p>

I hadn&#8217;t really thought of it before, but just because the scale of the drawing is Metric, the tool can measure in Imperial.  That&#8217;s pretty slick.</p>
<p>For <span class="atwho-inserted"><a class='bp-suggestions-mention' data-bb-hp-profile='4978' href='https://uchapter2.com/members/bb-user/' rel="nofollow">@bb-user</a></span> if you have already applied markups using tools that measure in Metric units, but you are looking for Imperial values you could select all of&hellip;</p>

So if a measurement is 60 MM in one view I have to make another viewpoint scaled area for a different area. Which is the same as in Imperial. But I was looking for a way just set the scale. I think i got it on normal views It might say 1:2 so I do a 1mm = 2mm and it works.&hellip;</p>

<p>Have you considered adding a couple of custom columns with a conversion factor and a formula to apply the factor to the metric measurement for conversion?</p>
<p>I&#8217;d expect <a class='bp-suggestions-mention' data-bb-hp-profile='2245' href='https://uchapter2.com/members/doug/' rel="nofollow">@doug</a> mclean might have some thoughts on this one as he works with both metric and imperial measurements on a regular basis.</p>

<p>Is there a download or something to so I can measure a line in Metric and it gives me the Imperial measurement. I have been doing each one by hand now with the calibration and looking up on a conversion site to see what the metric line amounts to in Imperial. </p>
