Quick poll for the takeoff people in here.

When you’re counting repeating items on a set, things like ceiling vents, receptacles, doors, windows, manholes, whatever repeats itself page after page, what’s your go-to method?

    1. Custom count symbol built into a custom Tool Chest for each item type
    2. Default checkmark, square, circle, triangle, diamond tools, maybe various colors.

How are you finding and marking your materials?

    1. Visual Search to find and tag matches automatically
    2. Manual count, logged straight into the Markups list as you go
    3. A mix, depending on how repetitive the set is

If you use Visual Search, are you searching the current sheet or multiple?

I don’t think there’s a wrong answer here, but I’m curious where everyone lands and why. If you picked “a mix,” I’d love to hear what tips the decision one way or the other.

I use custom tools in order so the markup reflects the items being counted.
As for the method of counting that depends on how many items there are as well as item being counted – things like road gullies on a large housing site will be done via visual search whereas piles to a house or block of flats will be done manually.
