Bluebeam Outage 2025 Recap: What Happened—and How to Fix Ongoing Issues

This past Monday, June 30, 2025, Bluebeam users around the world were hit with a frustrating surprise: widespread outages that took down access to Bluebeam Revu, the Bluebeam Gateway, Studio, and even the main website.

The cause? It looks like the company’s domain registration expired, leading to DNS (domain name system) issues that prevented your systems from connecting to anything tied to the Bluebeam.com domain.

What Actually Caused the Outage?

While Bluebeam’s servers themselves were still online, the expired domain meant DNS servers couldn’t find them. From your end, it just looked like the system was down, even though technically everything was running behind the scenes.

Thankfully, Bluebeam has since renewed the domain, and access has been restored for most users.

Still Having Trouble? Here’s What Might Be Happening

Even though Bluebeam has fixed the root issue, some users may still be unable to access services. Why? There are two common reasons:

  • Local DNS cache: Your system may still be hanging on to outdated DNS info, trying to connect to the old (invisible) address.

  • Security software/firewalls: Some security tools flag the “new” domain as suspicious because it temporarily vanished.

How to Fix It: Flush Your DNS and Refresh Your Network

If you’re still stuck, a DNS flush can usually fix things. This clears your computer’s cached records and forces it to fetch fresh info from the newly restored domain.

Steps to Flush DNS (pass along to your IT team if needed):

  1. Open Command Prompt (as Administrator).

  2. Enter the following commands one at a time, pressing Enter after each:

          ipconfig /flushdns

          ipconfig /registerdns

          ipconfig /release

          ipconfig /renew

After running these commands, try opening Bluebeam again. This should resolve most lingering connectivity issues related to the Bluebeam 2025 outage. Outages like this are rare, but they’re a good reminder of how interconnected our tools really are. Let’s hope this is the last time a forgotten domain renewal knocks out productivity on a Monday.
