Hardware Setup
Posted by Vince on September 17, 2022 at 6:03 amAs my existing mouse and keyboard seem to be gradually wearing out, I wondered what recommendations everyone had for a new wireless setup – mouse, keyboard and possibly even headphones?

Curious to hear what people recommend @Vince
At this point I’m running with whatever our office manager picked off of Amazon, AKA nothing fancy.
I wonder if you picked a mouse with multiple buttons if you could set Revu so that some commands are activated by the “extra” buttons?

I’ve seen a few posts about assigning ‘tasks’ to the buttons on a programmable mouse so thought it’s got to be worth looking at.

@David Cutler maybe we should start offering a product review service for anyone who wants to send us some bits to test out? A nice new ultra powerful laptop would be a good item to start with in case anyone is listening out there! 😆

You might be onto something there @Vince !
I think you may have better luck than me since you’re generating content with videos and such. I know that a couple of the YouTube channels that I follow seem to get sponsorship type donations from time to time.😀

Apparently, we need to read up on how to become influencers @David Cutler – they are the people that seem to get given loads of stuff for doing not a lot!

Some certainly do more than others @Vince !
Both yourself and @troy-degroot have posted some great videos. Maybe @bluebeamsupportuchapter2-com will recognize your influencer status with a t shirt or a coaster. 🙂

Personally, for none other than comfort and accuracy, I love the Logi ergonomic (K860 keyboard, MX master 3S combo set). Both are Bluetooth capable and can switch between three devices. Mouse has a free spin wheel, so you can scroll through those long construction docs fast. Also has a side scroll wheel for a little more customization, couple extra buttons that can be customized for specific apps through the logi control panel. Keyboard clicks are smooth and quiet, yet have a solid almost mechanical click. Both are the most comfortable I have used yet, especially if you are at the station the entire work day.

right there with you Isaac.
I have the MX Master Keys and the MX Master 3 mouse and absolutely love it.
The best is setting up my keyboard to the phone 🙂-

I ended up going for the Logitech G604 mouse. I’m making use of a lot of the keys but not all of them yet! 😅
As for the keyboard, my old one is still okay so I can wait to sort that out.

I just looked up the keyboards and mice that you folks are running with and I think I’m running with the equivalent of a dull pencil and recycled yellow pad! 🤣

I still have to insert the USB receiver on mine @troy-degroot . It’s a step above a corded mouse, though not a very tall one… 🤣

I have a cheap Bluetooth mouse for when I go out on site.
