Offsetting Lines Tips

Below are the links to the videos that I’ve done about offsetting lines in Revu.

Obviously Revu is missing something by not having this feature and I’m sure many of us have tried various ways of getting over the issue, but I think I’ve found a couple of ways in which this can be done fairly successfully for most scenarios: –

    Part 1 – Creating Shapes – https://youtu.be/7mEnomM7Afc

    Part 2 – Custom Line Styles – https://youtu.be/A9pz-zHpU3k

Part 3 – Double Offsets using Custom Line Styles – https://youtu.be/zfxmTViPJf0

I hope some of you find these helpful!

I really appreciate you making the time to make these videos @Vince !

I think I may have missed something in the 3rd one though – how did you establish the 100 mm offset in the double line for the path?

@David Cutler the example of the 900mm path offset works rather well as what you do when creating your line style is create your first line at +1 and the second line at +10.

For a 600mm path it would be +1 and +7.

So hopefully a 2′ wide path offset 4″ from a building would also be +1 and +7.

This of course means there are limits to what you can do in a single tool and sometimes two sets of markups may be necessary.

Thank you for the clarification @Vince . I’ll have to play with this one a bit…
