    Forum Description

You’ve received a zip file containing all the files you’ll need for your Custom Tools and Profile in Bluebeam Revu. Following these steps installing custom Profiles for each user. First, let’s break down the types of files you might see. Depending on the complexity of your profile, you may have some or all of these file types.

    • .btx – Custom ToolSet
    • .bpx – Custom Profile
    • .xml – Custom Columns
    • .xml - Email Template
    • .xml - Sets Default Template
    • .blx - Custom Line Styles
    • .bhx - Custom Hatch Patterns
    • .bcf - Batch Config (Summary)

With larger-scale teams, the IT department may choose to set up a deployment to globally distribute installations. See the Bluebeam Revu Deployment Guide for more information on the Configuration Editor and the Deployment Packages.

For most companies simply share the files with each team member along with the following instructions.

    Installation Steps:

    1. Extract all the files from the zip file into the following location.
      • C:\Users\Uchap\AppData\Roaming\Bluebeam Software\Revu\21
      • "Uchap" will be your computer name (not Uchap)
      • "21" is the version of Revu you have installed. On your computer it could be 2018, 2019, 20, or 21 This will work on either of them.
    2. Once the files are extracted in the correct folder location:
      • Open Revu
      • At the top menu bar go to Revu > Profiles and you should be able to select “Company Name” Profile from the list.
      • If you don’t see it in the list, go to Revu > Profiles > Manage Profiles and select the “Company Name” Profile.bpx file.

    * Depending on the folder location and deployment processes, you may need to map the custom hatch patterns and line styles manually through the Properties Panel.

    * If your Custom Columns are not available in the Markups List, the document may have originally been saved with other Columns applied. Your Custom Columns can easily be imported.

Click here for directions on Managing Custom Columns.

I hope this helps get your team set up for success through consistent standardized markups and workflows.
