Custom Statuses

Wading into the realm of Custom Statuses this week in our Estimating workflow.
Have them set up for Included, Separate Price, Excluded, VE Option Submitted, and VE Option Accepted.

Hopefully our Project Management team sees this and it helps them as the project moves forward?

Any tips for how to move this forward

    Sounds interesting @Doug McLean

Is this functionality something that your team asked for?

      Sort of.
Its nice to have a visual cue that we’ve done something when we hand the job over to Project Management.

Often we do an estimate months before we get it awarded and we don’t always remember what all we’ve done. This way there’s at least something there to fire the brain cells… lol.

I’m sure you could put together a quick PowerPoint to present the added functionality to your team. That way they would also have something to refer back to when they have questions.

Do your PMs use your takeoffs as a management tool?

Some do, at least at the beginning.

Once the project moves forward things always change.
