Pulled some additional tools out of the tool box

Had a chance to use a few tools that I don’t use as often as I probably should last week. Received 2 updated sheets late in the week with a tight deadline to update my takeoff.

Here’s what I ended up using:

    1. Batch Overlay – Overlayed the 2 new sheets over the old sheets with the classic “red is original/green is new” color scheme to identify quickly what had changed.

    2. Batch Slip Sheet – Slid the new pages into my takeoff set and migrated all my markups to the new pages in 1 step

This allowed me to identify the changes quickly and then make a bulk move of more than 600 markups very quickly!

one of the advantages (IMO) of using Sets.
Plus you have the old drawing right underneath the new one to show any changes if necessary

It’s a shame you can use the new auto-align feature on batch overlays. I’ve tried doing a few sets of about 10-20 drawings but unfortunately the time it takes to correct those that don’t line up takes longer than doing them all individually.

I was lucky with this set @Vince in that they all aligned well. Very frustrating when the don’t!

One new trick I picked up this time was using the “Match by Page Region” option – I hadn’t noticed that option before. Very handy when the page labels don’t match.

I’ll have to check that one out
