I love confusing Salesmen
So I had a weird one the other day.
A while back I signed up for a webinar with Ken Phelps of Arkance, no big deal I do those all the time… well one of their people does the usual follow up with me and was a bit shocked.
First I reminded him that I’m in Canada, and that he can’t really sell me anything.
He asked my why I signed up for the webinar, and I responded well I know Ken personally, met him at Unbound etc., and I like his teaching style. I learn something from him all the time.
So he asks about training, and I tell him that I handle all the Revu training here…well he goes into his spiel… I’m like woah buddy, you know I’m one of the Community Champions right?!?!That kind of caught him off guard…lol. He’d never run into that before. I told him that well, there’s only 25 of us so I could imagine that this would be new.
Poor guy didn’t know what hit him, but he left laughing, so all good.

It’s intriguing to see someone’s reaction when they are realize they outplayed their hand.
I’m all for having a conversation and someone is trying to “educate” me on ‘why should I get their product’, but it happened more than once that the house of cards collapsed with a couple of rather simple questions.
Also: Way to FLEX that you’re a BUG Champion!
