“Smart Overlay” experience
Tried the relatively new “Smart Overlay” tool today. Historically I have used the “Overlay” and “Batch Overlay” tools to perform this task.
A few thoughts and notes:
1. I don’t see any added value in the “Bluebeam on the web” report. Seems to add another step when I have to download the report from the web interface – though it does put all the drawings in one file which does save that step in the batch overlay process.
2. The “Smart Overlay” output doesn’t put the two images on separate layers the way the traditional tools do. I’ve found the ability to toggle on/off the 2 versions of the print to be very helpful.
3. While both the original and updated files are on 42.00″ x 30.00″ sheets the “Smart Overlay” output is 58.33″ x 41.67″. While the scale could be set in Revu for measurements, plotting the sheets to a standard scale could be troublesome.
Has anyone else tried this? Perhaps I’m missing a setting adjustment or two?
