Why do markups setting follow you from profile to profile?
One of the most common questions I get from newer Bluebeam users: why do my markup settings keep following me from one profile to the next when I don’t want them to?
Here’s what’s going on: Bluebeam’s markup defaults live at the program level, not the profile level. So when you use “Set as Default” on a font size or color, it applies everywhere, not just the profile you were in when you set it. That trips people up constantly, and it’s not obvious until someone points it out.
The cleaner fix: skip the program-level defaults altogether and build your preferred settings straight into your Tool Chest instead. Tool sets are unique to each profile, so you get exactly the markup behavior you want in each one without fighting the program.
I walk students through this one all the time. Curious how the rest of you handle it, is everyone building it into Tool Chests, or have you found a different way around it?
