Are you using the right click menu or the CTRL and CTRL + ALT method?

Not sure how the Smart Review and Smart Overlay work as I can’t use those with our drawings.
Claude and Revu are beginning to be a whole new world at the moment – some of the stuff it can do is pretty amazing!

I watched the launch webinar yesterday and things didn’t go to plan with regards the new headers and footers. However, the new functionality for splitting areas, combining areas, etc. looks like it could be really handy – so I thought I’d test that out.

Not really niche tools @troy-degroot but, I do have 5 different profile for measuring groundworks alone. Not only to limit the number of tools in the tool chests but mainly in order so I can collect as much info in the custom columns as possible – automatically wherever possible.

I don’t think it is quite the same thing unfortunately, this year it was only really a half day event – still great though!

I use Microsoft To Do – with working for lots of different people there are so many tasks to remember but To Do works really well.

I have a monthly reminder to do a complete backup of Bluebeam – not had to use it yet but don’t want to risk somehow losing all of thse profiles.

I use custom tools in order so the markup reflects the items being counted.
As for the method of counting that depends on how many items there are as well as item being counted – things like road gullies on a large housing site will be done via visual search whereas piles to a house or block of flats will be done manually.

Learn the basics then experiment. You may have a specific output that you are initially trying to generate but, if you do those two things first, then you might discover that you can produce a whole load of extra data that will help you, all with very little or no extra input.

Hi @DavidCutler – yes – at the 2:00 mark I’m using the magic wand to change the new perimeter markup into the kerbs from my Tool Chest.

It will change all of the information to that of the new tool @DavidCutler .

Therefore, you have to be careful of one thing – if you have already entered any information into custom columns then this will be lost.

This is a small price to pay for everything else being changed in one go though.

I’ll try to do some demos of how I’m using this feature soon.

@DavidCutler I have tried out a couple of other things as well using Claude – some work but some don’t.

I’ve heard early June but that may just be here in the UK.

I know that the integration with Claude has been talked about a lot and appears to be very useful – I’ve tested it on creating things like manhole schedules, etc., I think some of the other tools are going to be the most important for anyone doing take-offs.

I’ve not come across any issues with 21.9 @DavidCutler but, as Doug has also said, I’m using the Max beta.

I think that the move away from ‘standard’ types to virtually everything being bespoke is a universal thing now.

Here in the UK we have housing developers building large schemes – 100 to 1,000 or more homes on a scheme. 20 years ago, each developer would have a set of standard housetypes (less than 10 I would say) with maybe the odd change…

I’ve had that here in the UK too Doug – quite funny when the salesman really doesn’t know anything more than the basics.

I’m guessing it is to do with changing between the Select and Pan tools as you are moving around a drawing.

Maybe something to with the line weights being disabled?

That would be a very good idea.

When I get this type of thing I’ll just use a provisional quantity based on tonnes / m3 (I guess that’ll be ton / cubic foot for you?).
Sometimes I’ll try to look at what will be in a lm of a ground beam etc. to provide a degree of backup but don’t go much further than that as the engineers all seem to come up with something different!

How are you getting the option to use the wand at the moment – mine does come up occasionally but not really when I want it.

I have the stitching feature available, but I get an error every time that I try to use it.

I also have the wand available – sometimes. When I say sometimes, I mean about 5% of the time which is very odd!

I think that there are probably a few things that I should test out again. Maybe I’ll wait until after Unbound though as they way Michael was talking about some of the forthcoming changes has made me think that I might need to make some changes to my workflows in the future anyway.

Are you successfully using Sets @DavidCutler ?

If your polylength is a single straight line then you might be able to use the details in the Properties panel to adjust the length although this might just work with horizontal or vertical lines.

I use this trick when I’m measuring brickwork and scaffolding on elevations – it works on areas and lengths.

I do use scaled Toolboxes for similar things @DavidCutler but not for this actual scenario – I’ll give it a try next time – thank you!

Always verify a drawing.
This week I’ve had a set drawings with the wrong scale in the title blocks and wrong scale bars in the legend.
The to top it off, when I tried to stitch the 6 drawings together the first one wasn’t printed to the same scale as the others – I had to increase it to 103% to get everything to tie together.

I’m not sure how many of you are aware but it looks like Bluebeam is encountering problems. The attached is from an email that I received earlier from my reseller here in the UK….

Strange about it being in your default location – I’ve got the European technical team looking into this and they thought it was to do with external storage – Dropbox, OneDrive, etc..
They’ve said they can recreate the issue but there isn’t any fix date yet.

I know someone who is having with very long wait time when connecting to a server printer.
My main issue is My Tools creating duplicate copies at the bottom of the tool chest. This only happens if everything is saved in Dropbox not the default file location though.
I think that’s about it so far though.

I’m with you @Doug McLean – I’ve worked out what one or two of the changes are but the rest is still a mystery. @isaac-harned has mentioned something about sequences changing and you have noted the hot-keys – I haven’t discovered either of those yet.

Unfortunately, I think I’ll have to wait until it’s a bit closer to home!

It turned out to be a dodgy set of drawings @DavidCutler ! However, I did test the stitching out on another set of drawings that I’d already put together with the old method – it still took longer with the new feature and the results weren’t as good.

The new toolchest features appear to be pretty good though.
