That’s a tricky question because as soon as they dig in to test each one, they may as well create Places and build the hyperlink manually. Way back in the day the hyperlinks would actually be a markup so you could change the status or add a comment to it, but that was rarely needed. You can imagine the length of the markup list if every single section, elevation, and plan note link was represented. You could almost hear the industry cheer when the update came out.

    So let’s brainstorm a solution….

What if they created Places for the most important details, then did a text search, select all instances, and add the hyperlink……

All great answers, as always. my approach is always, what makes us successful, what obstacles have we eliminated in the past, and what can I mimic in Bluebeam. For instance, a yellow highlighter has always been for “Material X”, when I make a tool to measure “Material X” it will be yellow. Reduce the learning curve as much as possible by keeping things the same. Bake in the wisdom of your senior employees. Build the tools and profile so users trip into doing everything correctly, and make it so they have to go out of their way to do it wrong.

As far as sharing files on this site, all I ask is that the material drives people TO my site and not away from it. Thanks for all you guys do!

I haven’t run into that one, but it sounds like a bug. Have they installed any updates, or is this a new bug?

Your image looks great, I would just have to better understand the difference in the results from the regular overlay function. Lots of cool stuff you can do with the color modifications. Great value in this post @isaac-harned

I’m on the latest update for Revu 20 and not having any issues. I was having issues printing from Revit in the Revu 21 plugins, so I had to uninstall it.

Exactly! I’m sure the software doesn’t know the difference between “recent” and “pinned recent”, but a warning would be good.

I need to redesign the folder structure and shortcuts. It goes without saying the Clear Recent button will never be used again.

I wish it was part of a profile. I had a separate session of Bluebeam open that still showed them, but when I tried to add documents to a category they all disappeared. I guess it’s time to rethink and reorganize.

I need to recreate all my links and reduce the number of files. Wish I had a screenshot at least.

This is great @carlwegman thanks for sharing. I would typically keep the price out of Bluebeam as it can change by the hour. I can see maybe custom dropdown menus for product widths, and as you mentioned formulas rounding up to the next full sheet. It’s always interesting to think about the actual installation process and how “Waste” can look different in the reality of the job site.

A common office mistake is calculating 120 total linear feet of let’s say J-Channel and ordering 10 – 12′-0″ sticks of material. All of a sudden the person in the field is down to the last 3 windows using 6″ scraps to peice it together. A better way to estimate might be every length over 6′-0″ gets a full stick.

I’m guessing it could be similar with your panel products.

That makes sense. I typically teach to import the Compare Clouds onto the Overlay document and save that file into the revision folder. This way everything is together. I can see where different folder structures and workflows don’t always work the same. Thanks for the tip @isaac-harned always appreciated!

I’ll have to run this by them. It works from my point of view, but each company and each user has their own unique idea of how things should work (justifiably so).
