Invited to a Bluebeam Studio Session Hosted on Another Server? Here’s What You Need to Know
The other day, I received an invite to join a Bluebeam Studio Session. Normally, that’s no big deal; you click the link, type your login, and you’re in. I’ve done it hundreds of times. But this time? No luck. My login failed. I double-checked the password, reset it, tried again—still nothing. Turns out, it wasn’t me. It was the server.
Why Studio Servers Matter
When you first set up a Bluebeam ID, it is tied to a specific Studio server. Bluebeam currently runs servers in the U.S., U.K., Germany, and Australia. Here’s the kicker: your account only exists on the server where you registered. So if your Bluebeam ID was created on the U.S. server, and someone sends you an invite to a Session hosted on the U.K. server, your login simply doesn’t exist there. That’s exactly what happened to me. A colleague in London sent an invite, and my U.S.-based account couldn’t connect.
The Fix: Create a “Twin” Account
The solution is actually simple:
-
Create another account on the correct Studio server.
-
You can use the same email address—it will just be tied to that server instead.
-
As soon as I created a U.K. account, I joined the Session without a problem.
Think of it as having “twin” accounts, one for each server you work with.
Why This Matters for You
- If you only work locally, you may never encounter this issue.
- But if you collaborate internationally, it is only a matter of time before this server mismatch happens.
- Setting up accounts on multiple servers now can save time and confusion later.
I’ve used Bluebeam Revu for years and never once thought about Studio servers. Now I know better. So if you ever find yourself stuck at a login screen that won’t budge, don’t panic, and don’t blame your keyboard. Check which server the Session is hosted on. Odds are, you’ll need to create an account on that server to get in. Simple as that.
