Interesting question @nic_bitting
A couple of ideas:
– Select the markup tool from “Recent Tools” Tool Chest rather than from the markups list
– If you select the markup and it jumps to the previous page use the “Previous View” button to take you back to the page that you want to continue your takeoff on. You can also us the “Alt + Left arrow” keyboard shortcut to jump back to the previous view
– From time to time I’ve also established a “Working Set” tool chest were I copy tools that I’m going to be using extensively to so that I don’t have to scroll through the same larger tool chest repeatedly. Kinda like having a pouch of tools that you take out of your main tool box in the basement to have handy when you are working on the second floor bathroom 😎

Hi Matt. Did upgrading to the current version of Revu solve this problem?

Thank you for the heads up Troy!
Are they saved a part of a profile that you have saved?

Well, I’m not a designer so this may be way off base, but I’ll throw it out there.
Working from the page that has the sections/details on it perform a visual search for the tag/callout symbol. Then test each result to see if it works as expected. As you test each one apply a custom markup that allows you to chose a custom value such as “works” or “broken”. The person addressing the markup could then set a custom status such as “fixed” or something along those lines.
Would something along these lines help them?

Very interesting problem @matt-hackman
Actually it sounds like a nightmare! Something like this would stop me in my tracks!
A couple of questions:
– What version is this person using?
– Are they setup with the same profile as others in your company?
– Have you submitted this one directly to Bluebeam yet?
Please keep us posted!

That’s an interesting one.

Sounds as if your City really has the process dialed in @aekrogh !
Is this something that the City put in place and required the other groups to use, or was it developed with input from the various “interested parties”? What types of challenges did you face with the implementation?

I was surprised previously when I learned that a status couldn’t be removed Doug. @Dwane Lindsey ‘s “None” status is a great way to “clear” an incorrectly applied status.

Did you ever get to have a look at this system @Vince ?

This one might be a good one to bring to the attention of folks you know at Bluebeam – or perhaps someone who is already reading this 😎.
I could see two improvements in the “Clear Recent Files” option:
1. Add a “Are you sure you want to do this as this will not only clear your recent files but also your Categories and Pinned files” warning message.
2. Split the “Clear Recent Files” into a “Clear Recent Files” and a separate “Clear Categories and Pinned files” option.
After all, what every day user would have ever thought that “Clear Recent Files” would clear your categories and pinned files??????

Might be an opportunity to discuss “Best Practices” for files that you access regularly.
To start I’d suggest establishing a “quick reference” folder on your system that is backed up regularly and then have a shortcut to that location pinned to your file explorer. This will take some effort to keep current, but will avoid this issue (an others) in the future.
Next I would pin 1 of those files to your quick access in the file menu in Revu. This would allow you to right click on the file and open that folder to access the other reference files without having all of them pinned directly in Revu.

Updating sounds like a good first step. Hopefully that does the trick!
I was a bit worried that your new user had found a way to break the latest version. That would have a number of us very scared!
Please keep us posted Matt.
