They are running 20.2.50 which our company offers 20.2.85 so we are working to get them the updated version and hopefully that solves the issue.

I would have never thought to actually start a takeoff and look around at my options.

I have someone looking to get the running quantity window that appears in the lower right corner of the screen when doing takeoff.

I do not use this and cannot find where to get this to appear. Does anyone know how to get this to pop up? Or what that little window is called?

What about if I pasted it all into a single cell and it retains all the returns?

When copying text from Bluebeam that has multiple lines and pasting somewhere else, the paste will keep the line returns precisely as shown in Bluebeam and I will need to delete the return and add a space to get the text formatted into my excel/word file. Is there a tip/fix for this?

Thanks for the response, I, unfortunately, haven’t run into a slab being demoed that’s square too often. I might try looking into excel formulas. I do have OST access so I have the option of uploading a single sheet and calculating just the saw cutting in there.

Working on slab demolition and wondering if anyone has worked out a way to calculate linear feet of saw cutting needed if I want the specified area to be broken up into 2’x2′ squares?

It looks like you’ve selected some locked markups on the right side of the document. Notice the items selected that have grey nodes instead of yellow and green. Selecting just the non-locked markups should solve your issue.

That’s interesting as it’s my typical workflow when receiving drawings.

I will build the bookmarks based on page region so that it’s easier to view any possible mistakes or pages that do not have the exact same format and need to be adjusted. Then I create the page labels from the bookmarks.

Yes, that’s what I typically do. I sort by count and all then utilize Split All.

Really anything that’s a count item. Form corner guards to pad footings to toilet accessories to sink cutouts in countertops.

The splitting isn’t that time-consuming either, was just looking to save small percentages of time.

Appreciate the response. I tried it out and looks like that isn’t what I’d be looking for. I’ll continue with splitting the counts as this still allows me to total the count and various measurements added to the takeoff.

I’ve found my best practice for using the Count tool during takeoff is to always split them up and not have them merged. Is there a way to automatically have the counts be split or to save this as a default to my profile?

This annoyed me but never stopped me from working so I didn’t think to ask this. A small trick that’s a huge game-changer!

You need to change the “length” unit under the measurements tab from ‘ft in’ to ‘ft’…notice it’s only the linear conditions that are having the issue.

If you create a new PDF from the ‘file’ tab in the upper left, you can select page size and then change the style from ‘blank’ to other patterns with a couple being grid lines.
