Curious to hear what people recommend @Vince
At this point I’m running with whatever our office manager picked off of Amazon, AKA nothing fancy.
I wonder if you picked a mouse with multiple buttons if you could set Revu so that some commands are activated by the “extra” buttons?

Great blog post @troy-degroot !
The “Paper Dolls” method can also be used for woodworking for laying out cut sheets for plywood parts.

Spot on @Doug McLean ! Others in my organization perform there takeoff with Revu and then write the results down on a pad of paper before entering them into our estimating software. The workflow I’ve developed allows me to export my takeoff to Excel, perform some data scrubbing, and then import the items and quantities into our estimating software. While it isn’t perfect my workflow is much more efficient.
Now I need to up my game and learn how to use Power Query in Excel as you have recommended to further increase my efficiency😎

Great question @dhwalkellc
I don’t user layer hierarchy yet, but I do use a cover sheet on my takeoffs that includes around 20 of my “standard” items (layout, mobilization, supervision, etc). If you use similar items that are in every bid you might consider adding these standard items to your layer sheet.

@Vince posted about hardware setups on LinkedIn and it reminded me about this thread. Has anyone made any updates to their setups recently?

Welcome to the Brainery @joser
If I am understanding your question correctly you are asking that if you create a “standard” spreadsheet can you use it over and over again for new PDF files. While I don’t use quantity link myself, my understanding is that you should be able to save a copy of your Excel file and then update the links to reference your new project’s PDF.
I hope this answers your question.

Now you’ve given me another reason to hold off! Thank you for the heads up.
Did you try hitting the “F1” key to bring up the help menu? That works in 20.2.70…

I’ll be there for the virtual sessions @troy-degroot
I’m house bound this weekend so if you need an independent set of eyes on your slides or a critic for a dry run drop me a Email.
Looking forward to seeing how many of the XCON presenters you can recruit to share their work with the Brainery…

I’m hitting “like” on these posts, but I don’t “like” what you are seeing!
Great video @Vince !
Yet another reason to have your tools exported and saved to an secure location.
I think I’m going to stay back in Revu 20.2.70 were I’m not seeing these (or other) issues….

I hear where you are coming from @Vince
Have you tried using “Edit/Replace” with the .PDF file name in your Excel file?

Perhaps @Vince it’s time to mount a “Make a Suggestion” campaign for a left, right, center text position option for captions on lines?
Interesting @troy-degroot that the labels are set based on a coordinate system. That could be a good one to know for Bluebeam Trivia….
