I come across this issue quite frequently and thought I’d reported it a while ago along with a couple of other glitches. I’ll check and, if not, will report it as a bug later.

Is anyone else using Dropbox to store their profiles? I just got a new laptop and want to keep my old one for going out on site. So, I’ve just saved everything to a Dropbox folder which both laptops can access.
All seems to be working okay but I was wondering if there are any issues with this sort of setup that I should be aware of?

Hi Rob. I’m not 100% following what you are doing but happy to have a chat tomorrow if you are about.

If I only had that level of influence @David Cutler !
Apparently, I’m currently causing enough issues by asking for engineers’ designs to be something that we can actually construct on-site instead of being a group of lines which just look very neat on a screen.
If I now asked for a sensible file naming convention then, I think a few heads will explode!
However, in all seriousness, I think the issue here is that many of our clients upload their drawings to Viewpoint, Doc Hosting, etc and I’m assuming that those programmes handle the filenames better than Revu so the client doesn’t see what the actual problem is???

Thanks @Dwane.
I was just looking at ways to manage a project with people being based in different offices and also on-site. I started out thinking that a Studio project would allow everyone access to the files that they need.
But then I started looking at how to upload or updated new drawings of which there are loads. There can be issues of multiple drawings every few days so updating one by one isn’t an option.
Sets doesn’t work here in the UK because of the way files are named – there is no standard format or consistency.
To be honest, the whole process is proving a bit painful!

Thanks @Doug!
I wasn’t sure if I was needing to look at sets or if there was some other way of inserting new and / or updated drawings into a Project? I know I’ve already bored everyone about this but, due to how inconsistent our designers are with how they name drawings, sets are extremely difficult to use here in the UK.
I thought slip sheeting was going to be the answer but that doesn’t necessarily seem to be the case.
I was looking at Projects and possibly a Dashboard but it’s essential that I can easily import new information.

That looks really helpful @dwane! I have a couple of companies that I am talking to at the moment with say a dozen users who would probably benefit from this – getting it to work even with your clear instructions might still be a challenge though! 🤣

I know how to ‘measure’ in Revu but how a team would share the same profile, etc. is all new to me so, if people can share the way they do things then this is great. Especially, seeing as Bluebeam don’t appear to offer an easily workable facility for this!

Do you just rely on them downloading updated profiles as & when they are published?

You won’t regret it!
I would suggest playing around with it a bit first before you decide on exactly what you think you want to get out of it. Hopefully, you fill find that one measurement in Revu combined with Excel may replace several markups that you previously used.
‘Door Type 1’ in Revu can have the following information in a table in Excel: – size & type door, details for hinges, lock type, handle type, door lining details, architrave details, finish to the door, etc, etc, etc..
The idea (from my point of view) is to keep Revu fairly simple so ‘Door Type 1’ never needs to change. The details in Excel are where you make changes, add new, items, etc.. For example, change the type & number of hinges to be used then hit refresh. Within a second or two all of your output information will be updated.

I think we’re all guilty of doing things like that! 🤣

You really don’t need the Power Automate part.
If you update something in Revu then just export the markup list to the csv file.
Then with Power Query you can set it up to find the csv file so, all you have to do is press refresh and you’re done.
So this is all done in a couple of seconds – literally.

I’ve never used Power Automate. If you use Power Query, then this can pull in the information from a CSV file which means if you export from Revu you don’t even have to open the CSV file to get everything to work.
Power Query will also let you do various manipulations, etc. with the info from the Markup List.
